Welcome underground

Be part of a big adventure from centuries gone by. Sense the inner life of the mountain and experience 350 years of culture in the tunnels. Here you can gain an insight into the working conditions underground, the simple lifestyle of the miners and their social environment, the political conflicts between Salzburg and Tyrol, the economic background and the strong influence of the church.

Excursions start out from the show cheese dairy alongside the animal park on the Hainzenberg. The tour takes around two hours and includes a visit to the key historic sites and the tunnel systems.
